John Blocher has been appointed as the new Chief Risk Officer by Liberty Bankers Insurance Group.

Jan. 17, 2024, Dallas, Texas /PRNewswire/ — John Blocher has joined Liberty Bankers Insurance Group (LBIG), a well-known national provider of wealth, health, and life insurance products, as vice president and chief risk officer.
David Vrla, executive vice president, chief actuary, and appointed actuary at Liberty Bankers Insurance Group, stated, “With a proven track record, Blocher brings a wealth of knowledge to the LBIG team.”

Blocher was a senior actuary at Mass Mutual Ascend before joining the group. Additionally, he held a number of positions in the fields and was the director of enterprise risk management at Security Benefit of annuity, life, and health business valuation, capital management, and reinsurance.

Blocher belongs to the American Academy of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries as a fellow. He is on committees for the American Academy of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries, serving on exam committees for both organizations.
He earned a bachelor of science in industrial management from Purdue University.
