Insurance won’t cover damage, according to a Sault woman whose stolen car was totaled during a police chase.

After her insurance company refused to pay for her car, which was stolen from her driveway and used in a risky police pursuit that was caught on camera, a Sault woman is searching for a Christmas miracle.
Bryana Leonard claimed on her own GoFundMe page that her car was a part of a perilous takedown operation that resulted in four Sault Police officers receiving minor injuries.
Leonard claimed that on December 19, she was getting the car ready for her young son by warming it up in her driveway. The vehicle was driven through a crowded parking lot, through a red light, and into a cruiser after being stolen. prior to being stopped on Brien Avenue by law enforcement.

On a local Facebook forum, a dramatic video of the police chase was shared. It showed the stolen car driving across a lawn near a house before police cruisers surrounded it.
After being taken into custody, Amanda Maynard, 40, was accused of a number of crimes, including car theft and assault with the intent to resist arrest. She was freed on a promise after being taken into custody earlier, according to the police, for breaking and entering.
The 36-year-old Jacob Sabourin is accused of being a passenger in a car that was taken against his will.
Leonard wrote on the GoFundMe page, “I’ve discovered that my insurance won’t cover any cost or loss.” “As of right now, I have no car and an undetermined amount of debt for the towing as well as any additional costs related to getting well after this.”
Leonard is requesting $6,000 in order to pay for the expenses incurred by the loss and theft of her primary mode of transportation. She has raised slightly more than $1,200 so far.

“Without this vehicle I can no longer take my son to his doctors appointments, family visits and weekly learning activities,” she wrote in a letter.
“In addition to that, I help a lot of family members who don’t own a car. I can take loved ones to and from regular appointments, grocery stores, and emergency rooms thanks to my car.
