Jon Hamm appears to genuinely enjoy appearing in insurance advertisements.
Enjoy 4 Fun :1 Jon Hamm To Genuinely Appearing Insurance
Jon Hamm, Flo’s former romantic partner, seems to have nothing but affection for his now-famous appearances in Progressive Insurance advertisements.
The actor, who is most known for portraying advertising man Don Draper on AMC’s “Mad Men,” went meta in May 2022 when he partnered with the insurance company for a campaign and took on the role of a man in an advertisement.
In it, audiences see that, despite Hamm’s portrayal of himself, the fictional saleswoman who has been the focus of Progressive’s advertisements for almost 15 years is an example of unrequited love. Hamm remains enamored. Flo is more of an insurance fan.
It’s a ridiculous, corny gig that defies what one would expect from a man who won an Emmy. Best actor in a drama award. That’s kind of what Hamm liked about it, he said.
In the Season 5 premiere of “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?”, Hamm told CNN’s Chris Wallace, “To get a chance to do that kind of stuff, it’s funny in so many different ways.”
It goes without saying that the campaign has been incredibly successful and enjoyable for everyone involved. And being invited to play in that sandbox was just pleasant.

According to Wallace, it was not the sandbox most anticipated, especially since Hamm was enjoying great success at the time—he had just won an Emmy in 2015 and had major roles lined up.
“In 1995, there might have been a similar reluctance and strange division that said, ‘Well, you if you’re on TV, then you’re not a movie star.'” “You wouldn’t do commercials if you were in the movies.”
And I believe that everything is lost,” he uttered. “I think there has been a significant change in our industry, and any previous silos have been completely destroyed because of how the definition of television has changed even now with streaming, limited series, and TV movies.”
In his most recent performance, as Coach Carr in the musical film “Mean Girls,” Hamm once again goes with his gut—and Tina Fey. In the most recent seasons, he has also made an appearance of The Morning Show and Fargo.

When Hamm was asked why he had a full schedule, he replied, “I like what I do.” And I have the good fortune to be able to do what I do. And I can recall a time when I lacked the opportunities I do now.
Though he acknowledges that “starting a family might be something fun for me to think about, which I hope happens,” he is excited about his downtime.
Watch the episode, which is currently available for streaming on Max—a Warner Bros. Discovery subsidiary, much like CNN—to hear Hamm discuss his breakthrough performance as Don Draper in “Mad Men,” his collaboration with Tom Cruise on the 2022 summer blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick,” and more.
